Aboul Gheit, a former Egyptian foreign minister, also said he condemned "the violence, but from all sides."

"We demand the creation of political prospects and a fair resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict," he said while he met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

Arab League foreign ministers are to meet on Wednesday to discuss ways “to stop the Israeli aggression” against the Gaza Strip.
